Learning with Impact
A six-module virtual programme to help any trainer develop new understanding and experiential facilitation skills

Module 1: The Learning Journey
This module explores the real purpose of learning, the relationship between people and systems and learning as a journey. It will help ensure that participants understand the role of learning and development, how to establish clear outcomes and purpose and the importance of stakeholders in success.
Participants will leave with a clear understanding of the importance of having solid foundations in place before moving to solution mode and clarity over the link between this and the ability to demonstrate a return on investment (module 6).

Module 2: Creative Training Design
This module explores the real purpose of learning, the relationship between people and systems and learning as a journey. It will help ensure that participants understand the role of learning and development, how to establish clear outcomes and purpose and the importance of stakeholders in success.
Participants will leave with a clear understanding of the importance of having solid foundations in place before moving to solution mode and clarity over the link between this and the ability to demonstrate a return on investment (module 6).

Module 3: Effective Facilitation
In this module, we’ll explore some of the key skills and behaviours effective facilitators use to create a psychologically safe space for learning. And how they ensure the learning is accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.
Building on their own experience, and that of others, participants will explore how to establish expectations and boundaries, how to bring energy, authenticity and purpose to their training and how to manage time well.
And we’ll look at how to manage those challenging situations that everyone will face at some point in their careers.

Module 4: Powerful Debriefs
Perhaps the most critical piece in facilitating learner-led learning, is the debrief. In this module, we’ll explore the importance of guided reflection, and how the questions we ask can make or break a learning session.
We’ll explore the importance of using observed evidence to construct targeted, thought-provoking questions that encourage reflection and self-awareness, and which connect the experiences in the learning environment to what really happens in the workplace. And we’ll explore how to lead participants from enlightenment to implementation back in the workplace with clear, tangible actions.

Module 5: Assessing the Impact
Evaluation and return on investment is perhaps the part of the learning journey that most Learning and Development professionals struggle with most.
It’s also one of the most critical. And not just something internal training teams need to consider – it’s just as important that self-employed consultants and training companies know how to measure the impact of what they’re delivering to their client.
In this module, we’ll look at Kirkpatrick’s four-stage model of evaluation, consider its merits and reflect on why it almost always fails in application. We’ll also explore the value of anecdotal evidence of impact and how, using a structured process, we can capture story-based evidence in a way that supports and adds credibility to any statistical evidence provided by Kirkpatrick.

Module 6: Practice and Assessment
This practical module provides an opportunity for participants to demonstrate the skills they’ve learnt in a live virtual session and receive useful, detailed, constructive feedback that will help them continue their professional development.
Unlike other modules, this module will include sections that are recorded for assessment purposes.
Afterwards, stay in contact with your cohort with a private Wire group and enjoy the benefits of a year's free Lite membership of Trainers' Library.
